Pre Sales Consultant

Role Description:

The Pre-Sales Consultant is responsible for providing assistance to the sales organization to drive the sale of software and services to Exceedra prospects and existing Exceedra customers. The Pre-Sales Consultant is responsible for diagnosing prospective customers’ critical business processes and issues in order to scope, present and demonstrate the best possible solution consisting of Exceedra’s software and engagement services to meet the prospect’s needs and to win their business. S/he is also responsible for understanding the relative strengths and weaknesses of Exceedra’s solutions with particular focus on our Trade Promotion Management / Optimization, Customer Business Planning, Demand Planning, and the Sales & Operations Planning process.

The Pre-Sales Consultant will work directly with the prospect throughout the sales cycle to communicate Exceedra’s ability to meet the prospect’s needs, assisting sales until ultimately close the sale. Pre-Sales will also work closely with the Engagement Services team to provide prospect background and scope details gathered in during the sales cycle.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Help facilitate prospect discovery discussions of critical business issues and requirements as well as their sales planning and demand planning processes.
  • Assist Sales and Engagement services in developing the appropriate messaging and solution to fit the prospects’ needs and requirements.
  • Advise prospects and customers on consumer products industry best practice.
  • Describe how the solution works (science, technology / architecture, features and functions) to the prospect in a comprehensive but easy to understand manner.
  • Manage and deliver all Live Demonstrations, Conference Room Pilots, PoC’s, etc.
  • Manage the coordination and preparation of all RFI and RFP submissions.
  • Understand the prospect’s objections and develop and present solutions to those objections.
  • Explain the product development roadmap.
  • Communicate product requirements to Exceedra’s Product Development organization.
  • Describe the implementation process, collect all relevant data to support Engagement Services in developing an estimate for resource requirements.
  • Assist in the implementation process as necessary and appropriate.
  • Support existing customer development.

Experience Required:

  • 5 – 8 Years CPG manufacturer experience.
  • Extensive experience and understanding of CPG trade promotion management, trade promotion optimization, customer planning, and demand planning.
  • A working knowledge of industry best practices in the above mentioned areas.
  • Ability to communicate complex solutions and analytics to non-analytical people.
  • Business driven individual with ability to diagnose business issues.
  • Excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, influencing and management skills.
  • A plus if the candidate has solution consulting experience selling to CPG companies.

Eductaion:

  • Bachelor’s degree – preferred in business administration, finance, or marketing.

Other Requirements:

  • Required to travel to prospect and client sites for meetings (25-40%).
  • A plus if candidate lives in or near Charlotte, NC (North American HQ).

PROJECT MANAGER - LONDON, UK

Project Manager

Role Description:

Exceedra requires an experience Project Manager to own the management, planning and co-ordination of professional services team. The Project Manager will report to the EMEA Commercial Director.   Acting as one of the key interfaces between external clients, the technical delivery team, the client engagement team and sales team.  The Project Manager will manage planning, identify and track key project milestones, manage billing, documentation and bring rigour to internal processes to ensure professional services the milestones.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Creation and ownership of overall professional services plan work with key stakeholders and management of milestones and client checkpoints.
  • Creation and ownership of on-going project documentation, such as risks and issue logs.
  • Management of professional services order book and monthly billing process.
  • Liaison with external client project management functions, Exceedra technical team members, and Exceedra engagement team members to understand and communicate project progress.
  • Identification of and escalation internally to appropriate stakeholders should significant risks to project delivery arise.
  • Organisation and co-ordination of project management tasks such as priority management, dependency management and decision-making from stakeholders to ensure achievement of project milestones.
  • Adopt a practice of continuous improvement through monitoring existing practices and proposing, documenting and implementing changes as required to improve efficiency.
  • Support Management providing Information and guidance to assist the decision making process.

Experience Required:

  • 3+ years in a project management function in a technology setting, with demonstrable experience of understanding technical systems and software related issues as well as project and contractual constraints.
  • Familiarity with formal project management processes, such as Prince 2.
  • Exposure to acting as a primary point of contact for high complexity software development projects to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exposure to client stakeholders of various seniority across the Consumer Goods, Manufacturing and Retail Sectors
  • Candidates that have familiarity with Microsoft Team Foundation Server 2013, and Agile/Scrum processes will be preferred.

Product Support Team – Database Developer

Role Description:

Exceedra has a database-backed B2B application that is packaged and delivered to tens of clients, often with some customisation. Exceedra is seeking an experienced database developer to own the Product Support function. The role is hands-on with the developer being responsible for the resolution of all defects raised against the database part of the Exceedra application.

Candidate Description

Candidates in the first instance should be technically strong, with multiple examples of working on significant database projects.

Desirable experience includes:

  • 3+ years database development using SQL Server stack – at least 2008 R2, preferably 2012/2014.
  • Demonstrable experience with most of the following
    – Creation of complex Stored Procedures
    – Database-backed N-tier applications
    – Kimball methodologies for Data Warehousing
    – Query performance tuning for large datasets
    – Advanced concepts such as CTEs, Analytic functions and Exception handling
  • Experience of working on OLTP applications using the Microsoft SQL Server suite, rather than pure BI or ETL experience

Role Description:

Exceedra requires a Delivery Manager to own day-to-day management of the 6-staff in the Product Development Team. The Delivery Manager will report to the CTO as a 2nd in charge, and will be responsible for the overall output of the team, day-to-day management and removal of obstacles.

The functional areas of the Product Development Team include New Development, Product Support, Sales Cycle Support and Infrastructure. The Delivery Manager will have ownership over person-management, planning and co-ordination in each of these areas. Finally, the Delivery Manager will act as one of the key interfaces between the Product Development Team, the UK and US-based Project Delivery teams and the Director team of Exceedra.

Candidate Description

Candidates in the first instance should have strong interpersonal and organisational skills, with multiple examples of owning software build projects and operating software service desks.

  • 3+ years in a project, service or delivery management role in a technology setting, with demonstrable experience of understanding technical systems and software related issues.

Job Description

Exceedra is seeking SQL Developers who have created robust and scalable OLTP or Data Warehouse solutions.

Candidates should have multi-year experience in both TSQL and Stored Procedures. While experience in either SSIS or SSAS is an advantage, cross-training in relevant BI technologies will be available for successful candidates from a pure OLTP background.

SQL Developers will own significant portions of projects spanning multiple clients. This will include discussing and agreeing requirements before designing and implementing solutions using the SQL Server stack, ensuring high quality standards are achieved throughout.

They will report directly to the Technical Principal (EMEA), and be supported by both Senior and Lead SQL Developers.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Use analytical, problem solving and engineering skills to deliver solutions built upon Exceedra’s award-winning technology stack.
  • Own significant parts of client implementations, and ensure their high quality.
  • Proactively identify risks to implementations, suggesting appropriate remedial actions.
