Project Manager

What’s The Opportunity?

We’re looking for a Delivery Manager for our Product Team to lead our team of talented Technical Consultants. Your team is responsible for New Development, Product Support, Sales Cycle Support and Infrastructure and you’ll be responsible for planning and coordinating the output for each of these areas.  

You’ll be second in command to our Head of Database for Product Development and will be one of the key liaisons between the UK and US based Project Delivery Teams and Leadership Team at Exceedra.

First and foremost, you’ll be a great People Manager and know how to get the most out of people through a focused yet friendly approach. Holding people accountable for their performance is something you do regularly and you know how to distribute work fairly during times of enhanced activity.   

Secondly, you’ll be a whizz at project management. Being fully responsible for the creation and execution of project roadmaps is like breathing to you. You know how to use your resource effectively to get the job done and you’ve got experience of deliver major projects to the right quality, at the right time before.

Ideally, you’ll have 3 or more years in a similar role with a technology business and experience with Jira is highly desirable.

Who Are We Looking For?

Ultimately you’ll be a project management expert who uses best practice principles to take software deployment projects from A – Z. You take a continuous improvement approach to work and once you’ve understood the lay of the land will propose, agree and implement changes that enhance efficiency.  

Interacting with C Suite Execs is second nature to you and you’ll have been the point person for highly complex software development projects in your current or previous roles. Experience within Consumer Goods, Manufacturing and / or Retail is essential so you have first hand knowledge of our client’s businesses.  

Through your experience you’ll know that business, and client, requirements / needs can change. As a skilled communicator you rally the troops by relaying this information in a positive and pragmatic way ensuring internal teams are clear on expectations and know what to do and by when. You’ll manage upwards to the senior leadership team to keep them informed of progress / risks and influence timely decision-making. 

You’ll have a project management qualification, such as Prince 2, and familiarity with Microsoft Team Foundation Server 2013 and Agile / Scrum processes will tick a few key boxes for us.

This involves database configuration, customization, ETL development using BIML and SISS, reporting in SSAS, PowerBI and in-house Canvas technology. 

Who Are We Looking For?

Ideally, you’ll have 1 – 2 years database development using SQL Server stack 2012, or above, and will be proficient in TSQL, SSAS and SSIS. You can demonstrate experience with the majority of SQL technologies including: 

  • Creation of complex stored procedures involving CTE’s, explicit transactions, shredding and creation of XML and exception handling
  • Database backed N-tier applications
  • Kimball methodologies for Data Warehousing
  • Working the data sets on the order of millions of rows
  • Query performance tuning for large datasets
  • ETL from flat-file and we-service XML sources
  • Using BIML for creation of SISS packages

Who Are We Looking For?

Our clients look to us to enhance their business processes and, alongside the product team, you’ll own their full experience. We’re looking for candidates who have at least 2 – 3 years experience within Finance, Supply Chain and / or Sales within FMCG but if you’re a Management Consultant in our space we’d be interested in hearing from you too.  

You’re keen to learn, pick things up quickly and are not afraid to share your thoughts / ideas if you think there is a better way of doing something. You’ll be someone who loves spinning a few different plates at once and through strong organisational skills thinks ahead to ensure they all keep spinning. 

We’d love it if you have a good understanding of technical concepts through having supported the deployment of Enterprise software however, if you’re a quick study this works for us too. You’re happy to follow internal processes and, once you’ve got your feet under the table, take the lead on enhancing these where you can.

LEAD ENGAGEMENT CONSULTANT - LONDON, UK

Lead Engagement Consultant

What’s The Opportunity?

We’re looking for a Lead Engagement Consultant to play a leading role in our growth and global expansion. The role is accountable for the end to end responsibility of implementation of the Exceedra software solution and ensuring our Engagement consulting team are at the top of their game. Working alongside project managers and solution configurators, you will manage design workshops where you’ll guide clients through process and solution design, and will oversee the build whilst ensuring alignment to the client’s requirements. You’ll be involved in testing and final system acceptance, including business case validation.  

Once you have proved your capability in deploying our software you will start to influence and implement the strategy and product. You’ll also be accountable for building, leading and developing a team of Engagement Consultants so we can continue to deliver in line with our growth.  

Who Are We Looking For?

Our clients look to us to enhance their business processes and you’ll own their full experience. As such, we’re looking for candidates who have progressive experience within Finance, Revenue Management, Trade Promotions, Demand Planning, Supply Chain and / or Sales within Consumer Goods, but if you’re an experienced Management Consultant, with experience of our space, we’d be interested in hearing from you too.  

You’ll have comprehensive experience of Trade Promotional Management (TPM), Trade Promotional Optimisation (TPO) or Integrated Business Planning concepts and will have managed, or have been heavily involved with, Package Software Implementations. Having technical knowledge is an absolute must as you’ll be actively involved in influencing our product through our steering committee and will work closely with our Product Team on deployment.  

Building relationships in a consultative, credible manner and holding a room / liaising with C Suite Execs will be second nature to you. PRODUCT SUPPORT TEAM, DATABASE DEVELOPER - LONDON, UK

Product Support Team – Database Developer

Role Description:

Exceedra has a database-backed B2B application that is packaged and delivered to tens of clients, often with some customisation. Exceedra is seeking an experienced database developer to own the Product Support function. The role is hands-on with the developer being responsible for the resolution of all defects raised against the database part of the Exceedra application.

Candidate Description

Candidates in the first instance should be technically strong, with multiple examples of working on significant database projects.

Desirable experience includes:

  • 3+ years database development using SQL Server stack – at least 2008 R2, preferably 2012/2014.
  • Demonstrable experience with most of the following
    – Creation of complex Stored Procedures
    – Database-backed N-tier applications
    – Kimball methodologies for Data Warehousing
    – Query performance tuning for large datasets
    – Advanced concepts such as CTEs, Analytic functions and Exception handling
  • Experience of working on OLTP applications using the Microsoft SQL Server suite, rather than pure BI or ETL experience

  • Follow internal processes, methodology and best practices, contributing to their continued evolution.
  • Develop your own skillset on relevant areas of the SQL Server stack.
  • Be responsible for meeting Product Support SLAs, and providing a high quality of service to internal end users, as measured by end user satisfaction.
  • Liaise directly with stakeholders and other team members to ensure correct completion of support tasks.

Job Description

Exceedra is seeking SQL Developers who have created robust and scalable OLTP or Data Warehouse solutions.

Candidates should have multi-year experience in both TSQL and Stored Procedures. While experience in either SSIS or SSAS is an advantage, cross-training in relevant BI technologies will be available for successful candidates from a pure OLTP background.

SQL Developers will own significant portions of projects spanning multiple clients. This will include discussing and agreeing requirements before designing and implementing solutions using the SQL Server stack, ensuring high quality standards are achieved throughout.

They will report directly to the Technical Principal (EMEA), and be supported by both Senior and Lead SQL Developers.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Use analytical, problem solving and engineering skills to deliver solutions built upon Exceedra’s award-winning technology stack.
  • Own significant parts of client implementations, and ensure their high quality.
  • Proactively identify risks to implementations, suggesting appropriate remedial actions.
